The Destroyer - SHIVA

He is my favourite among all. One amongst the holy trinity in Hinduism, SHIVA is considered to be the destroyer and fierce when angry. He is the conqueror of death. His mahamritunjaya mantra given in the Rig Veda is chanted to free one from death and diseases.

He is known for his fearsome forms which he took while battling evil and killing them.

The Creator- BRAHMA

While the supreme one,VISHNU rests on the SHESHANAGA (serpent with thousand heads),the BRAHMA originated from the naval of Vishnu. Brahma rises from the naval of the supreme one in a lotus flower. Brahma is known to be the creator of the whole universe.

Brahma is depicted with four heads and white beard which is the sign of his wisdom. He also have four arms just like Vishnu. Brahma hold following things in his hands:

The Beginning

The Indian Mythology is the body of stories that is associated with Indian Culture. My mind was fascinated by different stories told to me by my Grandfather. He explained me about certain texts being part of Indian mythology According to Indian Mythology " Vedas " are the earliest texts known to Indians. Vedas are the collection of praises or hymns for the Aryan gods also known as "DEVAS" in India to make them happy so that it could bring them wealth and good fortune. The exact origin of Vedas is still disputed. These Vedas are composed in Vedic sanskrit.
These hymns are used to praise gods like Indra, Agni, Surya , Varuna, Vayu which are the personification of the natural elements like Thunder , Fire ,Sun,Water,Wind
The Vedas are further divided into 4 categories :
1. RIG VEDA (Collection of praises)
2. SAMA VEDA (Collection of melodies)
3. YAJUR VEDA (Collection of sacrifical rituals)
4. ATHRVA VEDA (Collection of Rishi)
